Dakar bites again as Loeb rolls

With the 48-Hour Chrono stage delivering a knockout blow to Carlos Sainz amongst others, the Saudi Arabian desert has more surprises in store for the remaining runners.

Sebastian Loeb rolled his Dacia Sandrider12km into the third stage and dropped 12 minutes while a damage assessment was done and loose bits of bodywork removed. He got going again, but stopped at km 69 again and is now more than an hour behind the virtual leader, Henk Lategan.

More later.
