Alex Riberas and Harry Tincknell are the first drivers named in Heart of Racing‘s Aston Martin Hypercar programme for the 2025 WEC season.

Riberas competed in LMGT3 machinery during the 2024 WEC season whereas Tincknell drove in selected-rounds in a Proton-run Porsche 963.

Aston Martin THOR (The Heart of Racing) will enter two Valkyrie Le Mans Hypercars in the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship.

The revived #007 and #009 numbering were originally fielded on their Lola-Aston Martin B09/60 LMP1s and DBR1 GT1s of the past.

Tincknell will drive in the #007 Valkyrie as Riberas will do so in the #009 entrant for their debut Hypercar campaign.

Aston Martin has elected to skip the upcoming IMSA 24 Hours of Daytona to instead mark the Valkyrie’s first outing at the WEC’s Qatar 1812 km season-opener.

“It is a great honour to be chosen as a driver for such an exciting project,” said Riberas.

“I have been a part of The Heart of Racing for the past 10 years and to be able to continue my journey with them, now at the pinnacle of endurance racing, is simply a dream come true.

“On top of this, to be given the opportunity to represent such an iconic brand as Aston Martin, which has such a remarkable history both in sportscar racing and at Le Mans is something that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

“The Aston Martin Valkyrie is the most spectacular car I have ever driven, and it sounds amazing, so to be able to share it with the fans of motorsport all over the world is something I am very much looking forward to.”

Tincknell returns after four years to Aston Martin

Tincknell is a Multimatic-affiliated driver having run this year in the IMSA SportsCar Championship with the Ford Mustang factory programme.

He previously drove for Aston Martin Racing in one successful Le Mans outing during the 2019-20 WEC season.

He has competed solely in Hypercar machinery since the 6 Hours of Monza last year.

Tincknell first drove prototype machinery in 2014 and 2015 for JOTA (LMP2) and Nissan’s short-lived LMP1 effort at Le Mans.

He also drove in Mazda Team Joest’s IMSA DPi project, where Multimatic was their chassis partner.

“It’s an absolute honour to return to Aston Martin for the Valkyrie programme,” added Tincknell.

“I believe the car will be a firm fan favourite with its amazing looks and the incredible sound of the V12 engine.

“It’s been exciting to be a part of the initial development testing, and the DNA of the car feels strong.

“I’m very proud of the hard work everyone has put in so far as we build towards the first race.

“Everyone at Aston Martin THOR Team has made me feel very welcome and I know I’m joining a professional outfit.

“Aston Martin has an incredible history in sportscar racing and this is really a ‘pinch myself moment’.

“Of course, I have great memories of Le Mans in 2020, and the aim is to repeat that feat with Valkyrie.

“It’s a dream come true.”

The Aston Martin THOR driver lineup for the 2025 WEC and IMSA seasons will be unveiled in due course.
