Heart of Racing has confirmed a single #23 Aston Martin Valkyrie LMH for the IMSA SportsCar Championship’s GTP class in 2025.

They will continue their #27 Vantage AMR GT3 car in the GTD category and will run IMSA’s first LMH-specification entry.

Heart of Racing has verified that they will run one GTP entrant next year, which will be a Valkyrie LMH.

LMH is more open on its blueprint as LMDh offers four choices of chassis manufacturers, having replaced the preceding DPi formula.

With a convergence partnership between IMSA and the Automobil Club l’Ouest (ACO – who governs the 24 Hours of Le Mans), LMH cars are eligible for IMSA’s GTP category.

Team principal Ian James said: “We are excited to see what the 2025 season holds.

“It’s a bit crazy to look back and see where we started [in 2020] versus where we are currently.

“We ultimately decided on a GTD entry as it complements our all-pro GTP program and serves as a useful rung on the ladder.

“This week, though, we are set on chasing the GTD PRO championship with the No. 23 team.

“Once the season ends, we will put our full focus on 2025.”

The Valkyrie will be the first (6.5L) V12 Hypercar and the second to feature a naturally-aspirated powertrain, after Cadillac’s LMC55R 5.5L V8 in the V-Series.R.

After first taking to the Silverstone circuit in July, the Valkyrie will make its IMSA debut next January at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course.

Heart of Racing will also debut the Valkyrie into the FIA World Endurance Championship’s Hypercar category.

IMSA’s Roar Before the 24 testing and qualifying sessions will take place on 17-19 January 2025.

The 24 Hours of Daytona season-opener will commence on 25-26 January.
