Cadillac Racing has confirmed Wayne Taylor Racing to run two V-Series.Rs for the 2025 IMSA season, in addition to the renewal of reigning GTP champions Action Express Racing (AXR).

WTRAndretti will switch from their outgoing two Acura ARX-06s towards a pair of Cadillac V-Series.Rs for next year, in light of Chip Ganassi’s announcement earlier in the year of their split with the GM manufacturer.

The ongoing partnership between WTR and Andretti is expected to continue only as the WTR name instead of WTRAndretti.

Reigning GTP champions AXR will continue with their ongoing partnership into their eighth consecutive IMSA season with Cadillac, currently running the #31 red-liveried V-Series.R.

The WTR outfit has previously used Cadillac machinery in the DPi era, having won three 24 Hours of Daytona races utilising the DPi-V.R package.

“Cadillac Racing is thrilled to run an expanded three-car factory program in the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship,” said GM President Mark Reuss.

“Wayne Taylor Racing and Action Express Racing bring decades of proven racing and technical expertise, and we look forward to continued success on the track.”

“I am so glad to return to the Cadillac family,” said Wayne Taylor, team principal, having last raced for Cadillac in the 2020 season.

“Having teamed with GM for so many years, with so many wins and championships, and having enjoyed such a fantastic relationship with them, this global program we have put together could not be more thrilling.

“We have exciting things coming and I look forward to discussing our commercial relationships in the coming months.”

The relationship between Wayne Taylor and Cadillac stretches far back to 1990 when Taylor himself was a General Motors factory driver GTP driver.

Team manager of the six-time champion team, Gary Nelson, concluded: “All of us at Action Express Racing are thrilled that Cadillac has chosen us again to represent their iconic brand.

“I have worked closely with GM for my entire career in motorsports.

“We have always been impressed with the people we work with at Cadillac.

“We are excited to compete for wins and championships at the highest level of sports car racing in America.”

Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing’s drivers will be confirmed at a later date, expecting to front two full-season drivers plus an Endurance Cup pilot and another driver solely for the 24 Hours of Daytona season-opener, in each car.
