Francesco Bagnaia maintained his strong showing in Friday’s practice to lead the final Austrian practice session heading into MotoGP qualifying.

His laptime of 1.29.243s placed him 0.052s ahead of KTM wildcard rider Pol Espargaro, with him separating the Ducati riders of Bagnaia and Marc Marquez.

Marquez, having struggled in the opening practice session on Friday, has bounced back to earn third place before the qualification period begins.

Championship leader Jorge Martin placed his Pramac bike in fourth, ahead of Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo and Aprilia’s Maverick Vinales.

Gresini look strong, with both riders once again finishing in the top 10, with younger brother Alex Marquez finishing his final practice session in seventh.

Pedro Acosta recovered from a high-speed incident yesterday to slot his GasGas bike eighth, ahead of Aleix Espargaro and Jack Miller.

VR46 Ducati’s Marco Bezzecchi finished his session, whereas team-mate Fabio Di Giannantonio was declared unfit for the weekend following a crash in yesterday’s practice.

Enea Bastianini was the filling in a Trackhouse Racing sandwich with the recent British Grand Prix winner placed in 13th, with Miguel Oliveira finishing ahead in 12th.

With Raul Fernandez placed in 14th, Joan Mir rounded off 15th spot as the 2020 champion finished as lead Honda rider.

Johann Zarco marginally missed out, finishing only 0.001s behind the Spaniard aboard his LCR Honda.

Franco Morbidelli had a session to forget, putting his GP24 bike in 17th, a second adrift of the leading protagonists.

Brad Binder surprised many of the local fans by finishing in 18th, who finished ahead of Takaaki Nakagami and Lorenzo Savadori.

Alex Rins finished his session on the 21st, with full-time riders Luca Marini and Augusto Fernandez occupying the final places on the classification list.

Stefan Bradl finished his session in dead last, with the German participating with Honda once again as part of its test riding programme.
