Bourdais fastest in final Daytona practice

Sebastien Bourdais was fastest in the GTP-only practice session ahead of qualifying for next weekend’s Daytona 24 Hours, setting a time of 1:33.236s in the #01 Cadillac Racing V-Series.R.

The 10 GTP entries were given a final, 25-minute practice session to further sample the 3.56-mile road course.

Bourdais in the #01 was 0.279s quicker than Felipe Nasr in the #7 Porsche Penske 936 (1:33.515s) and 0.364s quicker than third-placed Pipo Derani in the #31 Action Express Racing Cadillac (1:33.600s).

Fourth went to Connor De Phillippi in the #24 BMW M Team RLL M Hybrid V8 (1:33.961s) and fifth went to Louis Deletraz in the #40 WTR with Andretti Acura ARX-06 (1:34.099s).

Nick Tandy in the second Penske Porsche, the #6 entry duly finished sixth in the short session, setting a time of 1:34.134s ahead of the first of the two customer Porsche 963 entries, Tijmen van der Helm in the #85 JDC-Miller MotorSports Porsche (1:34.187s).

The second of the two BMWs went eighth fastest thanks to Jesse Krohn’s time of 1:34.281s in the #24 machine, ahead of Filipe Albuquerque in the #10 WTR Andretti Acura (1:34.529s) and Neel Jani in the #5 Proton Competition Porsche (1:41.833s).

Qualifying gets underway at 13:55 local time (18:55 GMT).
