Hanson tops the timesheets at Daytona in fourth Roar practice

JDC Miller’s Phil Hanson topped the timesheets for the fourth practice session for the Roar Before the 24, the qualifying session for the Daytona 24 Hours.

The Briton, in the #85 Porsche 963, set a 1:35.216 around the Daytona Road Course to go fastest. In second was Neel Jani, in the other customer Porsche 963, run by Proton Competition, in the #5 Porsche, 0.113 slower.

Third was Connor de Phillippi, behind the wheel of the #25 BMW M Hybrid V8, setting exactly the same time as Jani — 1:35.229. However, as Jani set it first, he got the higher position.

In fourth was veteran Sebastien Bourdais, driving the #01 Cadillac V-Series.R, with the sister #31 Cadillac, with Tom Blomqvist putting in the fastest lap, fifth.

In LMP2, Ben Keating set the fastest time aboard the #2 United Autosports Oreca 07-Gibson, a 1:39.047. This was 0.047 faster than Paul di Resta in the sister #22 United Autosports Oreca.

In third was Charles Zilisch in the #18 Era Oreca-Gibson, just under a quarter of a tenth off Keating.

Three GTD cars topped the combined GT standings. Top was Klaus Bachler, in the #86 MDK Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3.R, setting a 1:45.799. Just under two tenths slower was Trent Hindman in the #92 Kellymoss with Riley, while Fred Makowiecki made it a Porsche GTD 1-2-3 in the #120 Wright Motorsports Porsche.

GTD Pro, then, was topped by Mario Farnbacher in the #23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo, with a 1:46.066.

Second was Dirk Mueller in the #65 Ford Mustang GT3, while third was Daniel Serra on board the #62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3.
