Magnus Racing has retained their driver lineup from the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, with John Potter and Andy Lally joined by Spencer Pumpelly for the Endurance Cup, and Nicki Thiim for the Daytona opener.

The team will field the #44 Aston Martin Vantage GT3, utilising new ‘Evolution’ updates for the 2024 IMSA season.

Competing in the GTD category, they are one of 22 competitors for the full 11-round calendar, with an extra two GTDs for the 24 Hours of Daytona.

Last year, and the year beforehand, Magnus Racing finished second in-class at the season-opener, and so it will mark Lally’s record 22nd consecutive start in the prestigious endurance event.

Potter said: “We already had the WhatsApp chat setup with these drivers, so it seemed easier to continue as is.

“Our goal at Daytona is also the same as last year, move up only one position from the year before.

“I’m excited to be back with these guys and so much of the same crew and with AMR again.”

“I’m excited to begin another season with Magnus,” added Pumpelly.

“We have traditionally started strong at the Rolex 24 where we have finished on the podium three of the last four years.

“It’s a great team of guys and bringing Nicki [Thiim] back is just frosting on the hair cake.”

Aston Martin factory driver Nicki Thiim will serve as Magnus Racing’s fourth driver at the Daytona 24 on 27-28 January, with Potter and Lally continuing as full-season drivers.

Pumpelly has driven in the Endurance Cup for the team since the 2021 season, marking five podium finishes during his time.

The 2024 season comprises of five Endurance Cup rounds, with the Daytona 24 followed by the 12 Hours of Sebring, the Six Hours of the Glen, the Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis, and the Petit Le Mans season finale.
