Forte Racing has confirmed Lamborghini factory driver Sandy Mitchell for their 24 Hours of Daytona driver lineup, and have unveiled their 2024 #78 Huracan GT3 EVO2 livery.

The 23-year-old factory driver will drive in the #78 GTD competitor at the opening round of the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Joining the triple 24 Hours of Spa class-winner will be team regulars Misha Goikhberg and Loris Spinelli, plus Devlin DeFrancesco for the historic endurance race.

Their 2024 black, green and purple livery has been created by graphic design artist Andy Blackmore, and team owner Shane Seneviratne.

Mitchell said: “I’m super excited to be joining Forte Racing for Daytona.

“I’ve competed in this amazing race once before (last year with Peregrine Racing’s Lamborghini), and I’m thrilled to be back on the grid as the atmosphere and on track action are equally impressive during race weekend.

“I feel we have a great driver line-up, and from keeping an eye on the team’s progress last season, I think our overall package will be very strong.

“Can’t wait to meet my teammates and crew, and work towards producing a strong result come race day.”

Forte Racing GTD team manager, Michael Harvey, commented: “Adding to our driver strength, we are thrilled to welcome Lamborghini factory driver Sandy Mitchell to our strong line up of Misha, Loris and Devlin.

“Excited to bring our ‘split personality’ livery to life starting at Daytona. Seems the perfect event as we navigate the sunny day into the dark night.”

The team will race against 23 other GTD competitors at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course, as proceedings will commence at the Roar Before the 24 testing and qualifying one week prior to the Daytona 24, which comprises of free practice and the main race on 27-28 January 2024.
