Ford Performance has announced Ben Barker, Dennis Olsen, Andy Priaulx, Christopher Mies and Frederic Vervisch to join the existing driver roster for their new Mustang GT3 programmes.

The five new arrivals are expected to compete with the new Ford Mustang GT3 in series such as the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Barker is already set to drive one of Proton Competition’s LMGT3 entries in the WEC, as Olsen – having departed Porsche after an eight-year partnership beforehand – and Priaulx – having not raced since Ford’s GTE programme in 2019 – are not confirmed in exact series yet.

Mies joins Harry Tincknell and Mike Rockenfeller in the IMSA #64 Ford Multimatic Motorsports entrant for the 2024 season-opener in January, whilst Vervisch will assist Joe Hand and Dirk Muller in the #65.

Hand, Muller, Tincknell and Rockenfeller were already confirmed as full-season drivers for the GTD Pro effort, making it a nine-person roster of Ford works GT3 drivers.

Ford Performance Motorsports global director Mark Rushbrook said: “This is such an important and special year for Mustang – it will celebrate its 60th anniversary and we take Mustang racing globally.

“To take an icon like Mustang racing, we need a line-up of the best and most experienced GT racers, and our nine sports car factory drivers represent just that.

“Together with our partners at Multimatic Motorsports and our first customer teams Proton Competition and Dinamic GT (from the GT World Challenge Europe series), we are ready to take on the best in the world at the most iconic race circuits.

“I can’t wait to get started at Daytona in January.”
