IMSA qualifying was abandoned after only the GTD and GTD Pro cars had qualified, due to heavy rain and standing water at Watkins Glen.

This means for the grid for IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship’s Six Hours of the Glen will be set by championship points for the GTP, LMP2, and LMP3 c lasses. GTD and GTD Pro did get a full session in.

Therefore, the #6 Porsche 963 of Nick Tandy and Mathieu Jaminet will start on pole for the rac, with Pipo Derani, Jack Aitken and Alexander Sims alongside them in the #31 Action Express Cadillac V-Series.R.

The #10 Wayne Taylor Acura ARX-06 will start third, with the #01 Cadillac of Sebastien Bourdais and Renger van der Zande in fourth. In fifth will be the #24 BMW M Hybrid V8 of Connor de Phillippi and Nick Yelloly.

In LMP2, which did get siome laps out on track as the rain started falling heavily, which caused multiple cars including Ben Keating in the #52 PR1 Mathiasen Oreca 07-Gibson to crash at turn 7. The session was abandoned before any laps could be set.

This will see Mikkel Jensen, Scott Huffaker and Steven Thomas’s #11 TDS Oreca 07-Gibson on pole, followed by Keating and Paul-Loup Chatin. Third will be the #8 Tower Oreca 07-Gibson of Salih Yoluc, Kyffin Simpson, and Will Stevens.

In LMP3, the #74 Riley Ligier JS P320-Nissan of Josh Burdon, Felipe Fraga and Gar Robinson will start on pole.

And, in GTD and GTD Pro, Loris Spinelli set a 1:44.430 to take pole in the GTD-entered #78 Forte Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2. Daniel Serra was the first of the GTD Pro-entered cars, setting a 1:44.829 onboard the #62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3, almost four tenths slower than Spinelli.
