Rene Rast, Robin Frijns, Norman Nato, and Ferdinand Habsburg will join the previously-announced Sean Gelael and Rui Andrade in WRT’s sophomore season in the World Endurance Championship for 2022.

Habsburg and Frijns previously raced for WRT in last year’s World Endurance Championship, in a single car-entry.

The Belgian team is upgrading to two cars, with the #41 car racing under the ‘Realteam by WRT’ banner. This car will see Norman Nato and Ferdinand Habsburg joining Portuguese racer Rui Andrade.

The #31, meanwhile, will see Robin Frijns and Rene Rast, more commonly seen racing Audis for WRT, join former Formula 2 driver Sean Galeal.

WRT won the 2021 World Endurance Championship’s Endurance Trophy for LMP2 Teams, as well as Frijns and Habsburg winning the Endurance Trophy for LMP2 Drivers with Charles Milesi, who has switched to the Signatech-run Richard Mille Racing for 2022. In addition, Frijns, Habsburg and Milesi won the Le Mans 24 Hours last year. These achievements are made all the more impressive by the fact it was WRT’s first season in the championship.

The 2022 World Endurance Championship kicks off on Friday 18th March with the 1000 Miles of Sebring.
