Townsend Bell has been named as the fourth and final driver in Vasser Sullivan’s Lexus GTD line-up at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The former IndyCar driver will be making his fourth consecutive Daytona start with the team. He will join Frankie Montecalvo, Aaron Telitz and Richard Heistand aboard the #14 Lexus RC F GT3.

Bell will also once again be pulling double duty at the event, as he will also be providing commentary for NBC Sports during the event.

“This is the first time I’ve raced the Rolex 24 with all four drivers having experience in the race and with our Lexus RC F GT3,” he said. “That makes me confident. This will be my fourth season with the team and I couldn’t be more proud of the organization that Jimmy and Sulli have built- brick by brick.

“We have a really strong team now with a few key personnel additions over the off season. When I think about the proven race-winning capability of our Lexus RCF GT3, the VS team, and all of the outstanding support from Lexus Racing, I can’t wait to get going at Daytona.”

“Make no mistake, this will be the most competitive GT field in history, however we have a group ready and eager to compete.”

The San Francisco native has previously won the GTD class at Daytona in 2014 and added the class’ drivers championship in 2016. He also won the GTE Am class at Le Mans in 2016 and finished on the class podium in both of his two other Le Mans outings.

Vasser Sullivan will be fielding a pair of Lexus GT3 cars, one in each class. In addition to the #14 car in GTD, the team will also be part of the new GTD Pro class with the #12 Lexus for Jack Hawksworth, Ben Barnicoat and Kyle Kirkwood. The latter joins for the endurance races only.
