Vasser Sullivan #12 Lexus RC F GT3 driver Zach Veach has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not race at this weekend’s IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship Chevrolet Sports Car Classic at Detroit Belle Isle, the team has confirmed on Twitter.
Townsend Bell will replace Veach in the #12 Lexus RC F GT3 for the weekend instead, racing alongside regular driver Frankie Montecalvo.
Bell has already raced for Vasser Sullivan in the Lexus RC F GT3 at Daytona 24 Hours this year, finishing 13th in class, also alongside Veach and Montecalvo, plus Robert Megennis.
The Chevrolet Sportscar Classic takes place at Detroit Belle Isle on June 11-12th, with the race getting underway at 5:10 PM ET on Saturday June 12th.
