After three hours of racing at the 68th edition of the 12 Hours of Sebring currently sees Ryan Briscoe hold the race lead in the #10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac, narrowly ahead of the #6 Acura Penske of Juan Pablo Montoya.

The top prototype class has been hotly contested in the early quarter of the race with #6 in the hands of Dane Cameron holding the lead for the majority of the three hours thus far.

The #10 WTR Cadillac is currently favourite to take the DPi championship win having been able to claw back the time lost to the leading pack after serving a drive-through penalty after Renger Van Der Zande broke starting regulations before the green flag dropped.

The other title contender of the #7 Penske fell 11 laps down due to a turbo issue after the first round of pitstops which meant Ricky Taylor had take the car to garage for repairs.

A lengthy full course yellow slowed track action at the 2hr 30min mark thanks to advertising hording falling on the circuit at the final corner which needed removing, the safety car period then had to be extended after the #11 Grasser Racing GTD Lamborghini with Richard Heistand behind the wheel pulled to the side of the pit exit due to a mechanical issue.

In LMP2 the PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports ORECA of Simon Trummer holds almost a lap lead over the rest of the class thanks to the efforts of his Bronze ranked team-mate of Patrick Kelly.

In GTD where another title has yet to be decided, both AIM Vasser Sullivan Lexus’ ended up in the wall at the final corner due to fluids thrown out from the #4 GTLM Corvette of Oliver Gavin.

Both GTD Lexus’ were brought back to the garage on separate trucks, it is yet to be established if both cars may make it back into the race given the severity of the damage sustained to both cars and is likely to have championship implications on the destination of the class title.

In GTLM, the #911 Porsche of Earl Bamber currently leads on the team’s last outing in the IMSA series ahead of the #24 BMW of Augusto Farfus.

FCY currently still in place.
