Corvette led Friday’s second practice sessions for Saturday’s Michelin GT Challenge at Virginia International Raceway, which has hit by heavy rain.

Running was heavily curbed by the weather as just six entries ventured out to set an official time, with the rest braving the conditions only briefly.

Oliver Gavin in the #4 Chevrolet Corvette C8.R posted a time of 2:03.700 to top the session from Laurens Vanthoor in the #912 Porsche 911 RSR, more than half a second down.

Such were the conditions that the session was briefly halted with a red flag in order to carry out a track inspection as conditions continued to show no sign of improvement.

Aaron Telitz in the #14 AIM Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 was the quickest GTD runner, though he was just one of two GTD cars to post quick times, the other being Matt McMurry in the Meyer Shank Racing w/Curb-Agajanian Acura NSX GT3.

A second red flag was the result of the #44 GRT Magnus Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo of Andy Lally, which came to a stop on circuit.
