Stewart-Haas Racing announced last week crew chief changes among its NASCAR Cup Series teams for 2020 and missing from the new lineup was Billy Scott, former crew chief on SHR's #41 team. Scott revealed via Twitter on Thursday that he has moved to Richard Childress Racing.

"It has been exciting to start my next adventure with @RCRracing this week,” Scott [@BillyScott_RCR] tweeted. "Thank you to a lot of people for all of the support, inquiries, and offers over the past few weeks. I'm certainly looking forward to this opportunity at my new home.”

Scott will be head of race engineering at RCR in a position that was held by Justin Alexander in 2019. Alexander has been moved by RCR to the position of crew chief on the #3 team of driver Austin Dillon in the Cup Series.

Scott was a crew chiefd at SHR since 2016, first on the #10 team and, then, the #41. He has one win as a Cup Series crew chief with driver Kurt Busch in 2018. He worked with driver Daniel Suarez in 2019. Suarez also is no longer with SHR. Prior to his move to Stewart-Haas Racing, Scott was a crew chief at Michael Waltrip Racing.
