When Tyler Reddick moves from the NASCAR Xfinity Series to the NASCAR Cup Series, a promotioin from team owner Richard Childress, for the 2020 season, he'll bring along crew chief Randall Burnett to the #8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet. Burnett will replace Luke Lambert. But Lambert already has another job as a crew chief in the Cup Series for next year. He'll move to Roush Fenway Racing to be Chris Buescher's crew chief on the #17 team.

“We are certainly excited to have Luke Lambert joining our organization and taking over the reins of the #17 program,” RFR co-owner Jack Roush said. “Luke has a strong engineering background and also the ability to energize and lead a team. We look forward to pairing him with Chris next season and seeing what they can do on the track.”

Lambert will replace Brian Pattie as crew chief on the #17 team as Buescher replaces Ricky Stenhouse Jr. as the team's driver.

Reddick is in the 2019 Xfinity Series championship hunt with Burnett as his crew chief. Together, they have five wins this season, and Reddick is one of the four drivers who will be contending for the series championship in the season-finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Nov. 16.

Lambert has been a crew chief at RCR since 2011, mostly as a Cup Series crew chief, with the exception of the 2011 season when he was crew chief for Elliott Sadler in the Xfinity Series. In 258 Cup Series races, Lambert has one win, coming with Ryan Newman at ISM Raceway in 2017. After working with Jeff Burton and Ryan Newman, Lambert has been crew chief for Cup Series rookie Daniel Hemric on the #8 team this year. Reddick will replace Hemric in 2020.

Pattie has been with Roush Fenway since 2016 and has been crew chief for Stenhouse on the No. 17 team since 2017. He guided Stenhouse to his only two Cup Series wins to date, both in 2017. In all, Pattie has six wins as a Cup Series crew chief. Patties NASCAR future is unknown.
