In June 2020, Pocono Raceway will host both of its yearly Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races on the same weekend. It will mark the first Cup Series weekend doubleheader in NASCAR history. On Tuesday, the track revealed the distances for both of its Cup races.
The first race on Saturday June 27 will be a 130 laps, or 325 miles. NASCAR also will hold a NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series race the same day. On Sunday June 28, the Cup Series will run a 140 lap, or 350-mile, race. That race will be the same day as a NASCAR Xfinity Series race. The ARCA Menards Series also will race at Pocono on Thursday June 26.
Previously, Cup Series races at Pocono, held on separate weekends were 400 or 500 miles in length, most recently 400 miles.
The starting grid for the Saturday Cup Series race will be determined by a traditional qualifying session. The finishing order of the lead-lap cars in the first race will be inverted for the start of the Sunday race.
