Reigning World Champion Lewis Hamilton will have a stand-in race engineer for the next two events, with his usual race engineer Pete Bonnington absent.
Hamilton has his first opportunity to clinch a sixth world title in Mexico City and holds a 64-point advantage over team-mate Valtteri Bottas.
But he will be without Bonnington – nicknamed ‘Bono’ – at both the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez and next weekend in Austin.
Mercedes has confirmed that ‘Bono’ has undergone a medical procedure in his native UK and will miss the next two events as a result.
Hamilton will instead be engineered by Marcus Dudley, who usually holds the position of Performance Engineer, while Dudley’s role will be filled by Dom Riefstahl.
Riefstahl usually runs Mercedes’ race support operations from its Brackley base.
‘Bono’ has been a key member of Hamilton’s engineering crew since the Briton moved across from Mercedes in 2013.
