The WEC has announced the four drivers that will be competing in the rookie test following the 8 Hours of Bahrain in December.

Newly crowned FIA Formula 2 Champion Nyck de Vries has been selected to drive the Toyota TS050 Hybrid LMP1 car. The Dutchman, who currently races for Racing Team Nederland in LMP2, will be one of four in the test featuring the four champions of the 2018-2019 Super Season. Each driver will complete a minimum of 30 laps in the car.

Signatech Alpine Elf will be welcoming current ELMS LMP3 championship leader Mikkel Jensen behind the wheel of its Alpine A470 Gibson. Jensen, 24, has won three of the five races in the European Le Mans Series season and is a strong favourite heading into the season finale at Portimao.

De Vries' Racing Team Nederland team-mate Job van Uitert has been selected to drive with GTE Pro champions Porsche GT Team. The Dutchman, who is relatively new to endurance racing, is already an LMP3 champion, leads the ELMS points standings with G-Drive in LMP2 and impressed during this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In his debut at Le Mans, he brought G-Drive close to a class win before mechanical gremlins ended his hopes of a win. In his brief career, the Dutchman scored pole position in both of his appearance: first with G-Drive at Spa in May, and with Racing Team Nederland at Silverstone last month. Van Uitert will be driving the German manufacturer's new Porsche 911 RSR-19.

Finally, Bentley factory driver Vincent Abril will be getting a taste of GTE AM action as he drives the Team Project 1 Porsche 911 RSR. Abril already raced with Proton Competition at Le Mans last June, and will be making his Season 8 debut for Dempsey-Proton Racing at the 4 Hours of Shanghai next month.
