Risi Competizione to enter Petit Le Mans

Risi Competizione will be joining Motul Petit Le Mans with the same line-up that took top honours in the GTE Pro class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year.

James Calado, Alessandro Pier Guidi and Daniel Serra will be sharing driving duties at the season finale of the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship. This means the trio will be reunited in IMSA for the first time since they finished second at the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Risi Competizione has a history of success at Petit Le Mans, winning the inaugural race in 1998 and also claiming victory in 2008 and 2009. Its last win came in 2016, also with factory driver Calado.

Since then, the team's IMSA outings have become increasingly more sporadic. In 2019, the team only competed in the season opener at Daytona and sat out the rest of the championship, which was mostly down to Balance of Performance concerns at the time.

The last real competitive outing for the Houston-based outfit came at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June of this year, when a one-off entry into the 24 Hours of Le Mans saw Oliver Jarvis, Pipo Derani and Jules Gounon resulted in an eleventh place finish in GTE Pro.

"Petit Le Mans has been a special race to me and the team since it first started at Road Atlanta 22 years ago," said team owner Giuseppe Risi.

"Having won that inaugural race in 1998 and three additional victories, I'm quite fond of this race and this venue."
