The provisional calendar for the 2020 NTT IndyCar Series has been unveiled with a few races moving across the schedule, but the big news will see Pocono Raceway dropped in favour of a return to Richmond.
Racing action is scheduled to get underway with the Firestone Grand Prix of St.Petersburg in Florida on the weekend of March 12-15.
After a three week break, IndyCar will then head to Barber Motorsports Park for round two of the championship on April 5.
The Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach around the famous streets of California will then see the Circuit Of The Americas move to round four straight after Long Beach.
The series' busiest time of year will then get underway with the Indianapolis Grand Prix opening up the racing action in the month of May.
A week of practice will follow on the Tuesday after with qualifying for the 104th running of the Indianapolis 500 the following weekend with the new two-day format remaining the same as 2019.
The prestigious Indianapolis 500 will take place on its usual spot on Memorial weekend which will be May 24.
Following on from the action at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the action continues the following weekend with the 'Dual In Detroit' on May 30-31.
The run of five straight weekends of track action will end with the DXC Technology 600 at Texas Motor Speedway on June 6.
Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin will be the following destination as the series heads to Road America on June 21 with the return to Richmond Raceway the following week.
After a two week break, the series will continue with the traditional trip across the border for the Honda Indy Toronto on July 12, this will be followed by the second short oval of the seasons at Iowa Speedway.
Mid-Ohio is set for August 16 with WorldWide Technology Raceway at Gateway happening the following week.
The penultimate round of the season will continue to see IndyCar head to the west coast at Portland International Raceway on September 6.
The 17th and final round of the championship will head to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on September 20.
