The FIA Formula 2 Feature race in Belgium has been abandoned after a multi-car crash at the Radillion corner on the second lap.
Involved in the accident was Trident's Giuliano Alesi, BWT Arden's Anthoine Hubert, Juan Manuel Correa of Sauber Junior Team by Charouz and Campos debutant Marino Sato.
Such was the impact that Correa's feet were exposed as the front of the car had been ripped off. The Sauber car came to a halt upside down. Meanwhile the monocoque of Hubert's Arden was separated from the engine after he impacted the side of Correa's car at high speed.
The condition of Hubert and Correa is currently unknown, but medical crews are at the scene.
Alesi had continued until the end of the Kemmel straight but had no rear wing on his car. Both Alesi and Sato were able to walk away from their cars.
No replays were shown of the accident and the TV feed immediately cut away when the severity of the crash became apparent.
We will bring you updates on both drivers when we can.
Update: Hubert sadly passed away at 18:35 local time. Correa is in a stable condition, having suffered several fractures.
