Toyota Gazoo Racing has set the fastest time in the second free practice session ahead of this weekend's 4 Hours of Silverstone.
After Rebellion took top honours in this morning's opening session, the Japanese manufacturer fired back with a one-two. The #7 of Mike Conway set the fastest time of 01:36:487, nearly a full second than the #8 sister car piloted by Kamui Kobyashi. Rebellion completed the top three, with Gustavo Menezes' time of 01:37:876 in the #1 just two-tenths behind the slowest Toyota.
The #3 Rebellion was fourth and the top six was completed by the two Ginettas. The #5 came fifth after this morning's troubles, but once again got limited running as it only completed 17 laps.
United Autosports once again topped LMP2, with Paul di Resta once again staying ahead of a fellow ELMS debutant, this time taking the form of High Class Racing, while Racing Team Nederland took third place for the second session in a row. Cool Racing took fourth place, while defending class champions Signatech Alpine Elf completed the top five.
In GTE Pro, a Ferrari one-two was prevented by Porsche as the #91 of Richard Lietz split the two AF Corse entries. The #51 of James Calado took top honours, while the #71 sister car came in third in the hands of Miguel Molina. The #92 came fourth, while the two Aston Martins brought up the rear.
The British marque did considerably better in GTE Am, with the two Vantages in the class once more leading the way. Where TF Sport was quickest in practice 1, this time it was the works car as the #98 Aston Martin Racing machine of Ross Gunn beat out the bright red TF Sport machine of Charlie Eastwood. The #83 AF Corse Ferrari came third, despite serving a lengthy stop-and-go penalty for abusing track limits.
