Norman Nato has set the fastest time for Rebellion in the opening free practice session ahead of this weekend's 4 Hours of Silverstone. The Frenchman set a time of 01:36:860 to beat the #8 Toyota of Sebastien Buemi by 0.420s.
The pair of Toyota TS050 Hybrids were fastst for most of the 90-minute session, with Nato setting his fastest time right towards the end to surpass the two hybrids.
The #7 Toyota Kamui Kobayashi third over half a second behind Nato. The second Rebellion was fourth in the hands of Loic Duval ahead of the #6 Team LNT Ginetta of fellow Le Mans veteran Guy Smith. The #5 Ginetta ran into trouble, only completing a handful of installation laps before returning to the pits.
In LMP2, debutants United Autosports went quickest, with the #22 ORECA 07-Gibson in the hands of Paul di Resta setting the fastest time ahead of fellow newcomers Cool Racing, who were some four-tenths behind.
A further three tenths was Job van Uitert for Racing Team Nederland in the #29 ORECA, with Jackie Chan DC Racing in fourth ahead of reigning champions Signatech Alpine.
Gianmaria Bruni got the Porsche 911 RSR-19's WEC life off to a prosperous start, with the Italian's 01:55:766 putting the #91 on top in GTE Pro. The #51 AF Corse Ferrari of James Calado took second, with Marco Sorensen completing the top three in the #97 Aston Martin.
Aston Martin's fortunes continued in GTE Am, as Jonny Adam went quickest in the bright red #90 TF Sport Vantage AMR, with the works team's #98 behind in second in the hands of fellow veteran Darren Turner. The #70 MR Racing Ferrari was third, with the top five completed by the two Team Project 1 Porsches.
