Spot the difference: McLaren switches to ‘stealth’ livery for remainder of 2019

McLaren has said it will run a tweaked livery for the remainder of the 2019 Formula 1 season, for what it describes as "performance and aesthetic" purposes.

The updated livery has been branded a "stealth livery" and features more black, reducing the amount of orange and blue.

"Making its debut in Spa, the MCL34 will adopt a new stealth livery. The small restyle has been made for both performance and aesthetic purposes, as we continue to push as hard as we can until the end of the season," confirmed the team.

The differences are almost indistinguishable from the livery run prior to the summer break, but most noticeably the blue has been dropped from the rear-wing endplates, but added to the third element of the front-wing. The black base also rises higher up the car and wraps the nose and replaces the orange on the sidepod wings.

As a result, some sponsors have been shifted around, whilst British American Tobacco branding has been replaced by Belgium's Night and Day chain of shops.
