Harry Tincknell and Jonathan Bomarito have taken Mazda Team Joest's third straight victory in the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship by winning the IMSA Road Race Showcase at Road America.

Tincknell narrowly held off a hard-charging Dane Cameron in the final minutes, culminating in a controversial defensive maneuvre from the Briton when he ran wide into turn 5 and cut across on re-entry to prevent his Acura Team Penske rival from taking the victory. Cameron had started the race from pole position but could not convert his immense qualifying pace into a win in Wisconsin.

The #77 Mazda of Oliver Jarvis and Tristan Nunez finished in third place ahead of the #31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac of Felipe Nasr and Pipo Derani, with the #10 Konica Minolta Cadillac of Jordan Taylor and Renger van der Zande in fifth place.

The #7 Acura of Ricky Taylor and Helio Castroneves finished in seventh place despite leading early on after running over a piece of debris in the second hour, forcing an unplanned pitstop. LMP2 victory went to the #52 PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports ORECA.

Ford Chip Ganassi Racing kept the constructors championship in GTLM alive with a second straight victory for the #67 Ford GT of Ryan Briscoe and Richard Westbrook, with Dirk Müller and Joey Hand second in the #66 sister car.

Earl Bamber and Laurens Vanthoor took third despite struggling on the long straights after the #4 Corvette of Tommy Milner and Oliver Gavin were forced to make an unplanned stop for a battery replacement. The #3 sister car of Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen inherited fourth place, ahead of the #25 BMW of Tom Blomqvist and Connor de Philippi.

In GT Daytona, Matt Campbell and Zacharie Robichon held off the #43 Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini of Corey Lewis and Bryan Sellers to take their second consecutive class win, with the #96 Turner Motorsports BMW M6 GT3 of Bill Auberlen and Robby Foley in third place.

The #76 Compass Racing McLaren of Matt Plumb and Paul Holton was in podium contention until an unplanned stop for fuel mere minutes from the end ruined their chances.
