Ferrari's Charles Leclerc edged out team-mate Sebastian Vettel in the final practice session ahead of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

In a session which was interrupted by rain in the early stages, it was Ferrari who came out on top with Leclerc setting a 1:25.905 while Vettel was less than three hundredths behind.

Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton also came close to topping the session, only just 0.023 slower than Vettel in third place, and only 0.049s behind Leclerc.

Red Bull finished fourth and fifth, with Pierre Gasly again in front of team-mate Max Verstappen, as he built on an encouraging Friday display.

Valtteri Bottas failed to get a clear lap under his belt and ended the session half a second behind Leclerc. The Finn nearly made contact with Toro Rosso's Daniil Kvyat late into the session as the Russian tried to pass Bottas and came close to hitting the inside barrier at Woodcote.

McLaren's Lando Norris was seventh, two tenths clear of the Renault pair, led by Nico Hulkenberg over Daniel Ricciardo.

Just two-tenths of a second covered Hulkenberg in eighth all to the way to the Haas of Romain Grosjean in 14th, which included Alexander Albon, Antonio Giovinazzi, Carlos Sainz and Kvyat.

Magnussen was 15th ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and the two Racing Point cars and the two Williams.

George Russell completed the most amount of laps in the session as he hit the track early on testing new parts for the FW42 before the rain arrived.

British Grand Prix qualifying is scheduled for 14:00 local time.
