The FIA has released the entry list for the World Endurance Championship prologue for the Prologue in Barcelona later this month.The total number of cars participating in the two-day test session on July 23rd and 24th at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has been brought down to thirty following SMP Racing's withdrawal from the championship yesterday.
As a result, LMP1 will see a total of six entries for the event, with Toyota Gazoo Racing bringing its full line-up, including newcomer Brendon Hartley, who replaces Fernando Alonso. Rebellion Racing are yet to confirm their drivers, while Team LNT will bring Charlie Robinson and Michael Simpson to test a pair of Ginetta G60-LT-P1 – AERs.
In GTE Pro, five cars will hit the track during the two days. AF Corse will bring two Ferrari 488 GTE Evos, to be driven by James Calado, Alessandro Pier Guidi and Davide Rigon. Gianmaria Bruni, Richard Lietz, Kevin Estre and Michael Christensen will be on hand to test a pair of Porsche's new and improved 911 RSR-19 cars, while Aston Martin Racing will bring one Vantage AMR to be tested by all four of its WEC regulars: Maxime Martin, Alex Lynn, Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen.
LMP2 sees no fewer than four teams making their WEC debut, all jumping up from the European Le Mans Series. United Autosports are the only team running a Ligier chassis, set to be driven by Phil Hanson, Paul di Resta and Filipe Albuquerque. Furthermore, Cool Racing, Cetilar Racing and High Class Racing will also all make their debut. Racing Team Nederland will bring their new Oreca chassis to the tests, while Anthony Davidson, Pastor Maldonado and Roberto Gonzalez are present with Jota Sport having jumped ship from Dragonspeed, who are not on the entry list anymore.
Finally, GTE Am features a number of new names and faces. Red River Sport are a new team and will be bringing a Ferrari 488 GTE to the tests, as are Francois Perrodo, Emmanuel Collard and Nicklas Nielsen, who will be teaming up at AF Corse. Reigning champions Team Project 1 have expanded to a two-car effort, with Egidio Perfetti and Patrick Lindsey testing a pair of Porsche 911 RSRs. The Aston Martin Vantage AMR makes its debut in privateer hands as both TF Sport and Aston Martin Racing's GTE Am squad will be doing their first laps with the new car.
