With a quarter of the 24 Hours of Le Mans gone, Toyota still holds one-two as the race was interrupted by a crash involving Corvette's Marcel Fassler.

Fassler made contact with the #88 Dempsey-Proton Porsche of Satoshi Hoshino and crashed heavily at the Porsche Curves, ending the #64 Corvette's race prematurely. The crash marked Hoshino's third incident in six hours.

LMP2 also saw a number of incidents in the race's sixth hour. John Farano went off track at Tertre Rouge, bringing out a safety car, while Dragonspeed's Renger van der Zande was also seen moving slowly at the start of the Mulsanne Straight.

Later in the hour, Miro Konopka came together with Michelle Gatting, although that did not bring any consequences.

The GTE Pro battle remains close, with 2018 winner Kevin Estre leading ahead of Daniel Serra and Antonio Garcia. Estre took the lead from Serra while pitting shortly before the end of the hour.

Shortly before Fassler's accident, Andre Negrao passed Roman Rusinov for the LMP2 lead, with Dragonspeed's Anthony Davidson currently in third.

In LMP1, Toyota's battle for the overall victory is heating up as the safety cars caused by Farano and Fassler brought the pair closer together. Jose-Maria Lopez was leading in the #7 with Kazuki Nakajima trailing. Thomas Laurent was in third, capturing the third podium spot away from Mikhail Aleshin.

GTE Am remains in the hands of Keating Motorsports, with Felipe Fraga ahead of JMW Motorsport's Jeffrey Segal and WEC championship leader Team Project 1, whose Porsche 911 RSR is in the hands of Jörg Bergmeister.

Thomas Preining suffered an apparent issue as his Gulf Racing Porsche was seen moving slowly between Mulsanne and Indianapolis.
