Ford Chip Ganassi Racing has claimed pole position in the GTE Pro class qualifying for the TOTAL Six Hours of Spa Francorchamps. TF Sport was fastest in GTE Am.
The pair of Andy Priaulx and Harry Tincknell set the fastest average lap at the very end of the session, taking pole with a time of 02:12:885.
That time was enough to snatch pole away from Alex Lynn and Maxime Martin, who were less than a tenth behind. Augusto Farfus and Antonio Felix Da Costa took third in the #82 BMW M8 GTE, just ahead of the #81 sister car of Nick Catsburg and Martin Tomcyzk.
The second Aston Martin of Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen took fourth, despite briefly leading the session, just ahead of the second Ford of Stefan Mücke and Olivier Pla.
Porsche had a disappointing qualifying session, with Kevin Estre and Michael Christensen in seventh ahead of Gianmaria Bruni and Richard Lietz in eighth. The pair of AF Corse Ferraris rounded out the grid.
In GTE Am, TF Sport's Aston Martin Vantage took pole at the hands of Salih Yoluc, Charles Eastwood and Euan Hankey. An average lap time of 02:16:061 put them up on the #88 Dempsey-Proton Porsche of Matteo Cairoli, Gianluca Roda and Giorgio Roda. Team Project 1 came third with an average time of 02:16:390.
