Fernando Alonso has set the fastest time in the second free practice session ahead of this weekend's TOTAL 6 Hours of Spa Francorchamps.
In a session dominated by wet weather conditions, the #8 Toyota time of 02:19:483 put him more than a second clear of team-mate Mike Conway, who posted a time of 02:20:865. Third in class was Vitaly Petrov, who put down a 02:21:429 in the #11 SMP Racing machine. The two Rebellions of Neel Jani and Gustavo Menezes took fourth and fifth, while Tom Dillmann brought up the rear in the #4 ByKolles ENSO CLM P1/01.
The #17 SMP Racing BR Engineering BR-AER1, which was quickest in the first practice session, did not set a time. Stephane Sarrazin had an off at Blanchimont in the early stages of the session and was unable to continue the session.
In LMP2, Dragonspeed topped the timing sheet with a 02:27:682 at the hands of Pastor Maldonado. TDS Racing's Matthieu Vaxiviere was well over a second behind, while the #38 Jackie Chan DC Racing ORECA was in third place.
Aston Martin continued their form in GTE Pro, with Marco Sorensen leading the way with a time of 02:32:648, roughly two-tenths clear of Porsche's Gianmaria Bruni. The second Aston Martin of Alex Lynn came third.
Porsche once again lead the way in GTE Am. Matt Campbell went quickest in the #77 Dempsey-Proton Porsche, ahead of the MR Racing Ferrari driven by Olivier Beretta and Thomas Preining in the Gulf Racing 911 RSR.
