Maximilian Gunther will remain in the cockpit of the #6 GEOX Dragon Penske EV-3 at next weekend's Paris E-Prix, standing in for Felipe Nasr for a second consecutive race weekend for the American outfit.

Gunther joined GEOX Dragon for Season Five of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, however, after only three rounds was replaced by Nasr, returning to the cockpit for the Rome E-Prix when the Brazilian racer was competing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Long Beach last weekend.

Despite missing three race weekends in place of Nasr, Gunther performed admirably in Rome, qualifying in an impressive fifth place before competitively running inside the top 10, finishing in 19th as a result of two penalties for speeding under Full Course Yellow conditions and failing to deploy his second use of Attack Mode.

"I'm happy to confirm that I will be racing in Paris with @GEOXDRAGON next week," Gunther posted on Twitter. "We keep pushing for points again."

With Gunther replacing Nasr for a second consecutive race weekend, the ex-F1 driver's position within the team remains unknown, with Gunther's appearance in the #6 car in Rome expected to be a one-off appearance, with Nasr set to return to the cockpit for Paris.

Joining Formula E for the Mexico City E-Prix, Nasr has had a difficult baptism in the all-electric single seater series, failing to see the chequered flag in any of his three race starts to date while memorably causing a multi-car pileup and subsequent red flag in Hong Kong.

The Paris E-Prix will take place on April 27 and marks the eighth round of Formula E's present 2018/19 campaign.
