Sergio Jimenez, Yaqi Zhang and Qi Lin have all been handed grid penalties for the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY's next round of competition in Sanya on March 23.

The I-PACE eTROPHY's Hong Kong round marked an exciting racing affair, with Bryan Sellers taking his maiden victory in the series while also fronting a second consecutive 1-2 finish for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, with Katherine Legge finishing in the runner-up spot.

After fighting from 12th on the starting grid to finish on the final step of the podium, Jimenez's race was blemished by a collision between both himself and Simon Evans in Turn 10 on the final lap, with the Brazilian driver punting Evans' Team Pacific New Zealand eTROPHY car into the barriers.

Following an investigation, it was found that Jimenez was at fault for the accident and has subsequently been handed a two-place grid drop for the fourth race of the season.

For Team China Racing, while the squad left Hong Kong with its maiden win in the Pro-Am category through the efforts of Zhang, the driver has been handed a three-place grid penalty for his home race following an aggressive overtaking manoeuvre on Celia Martin in Turn 1 which ultimately allowed him to take victory.

Zhang's team-mate, Lin, was also penalised, with the driver failing to pit for repairs after being shown the black flag with an orange disk – a flag that he ultimately ignored.

With Lin being stand-in driver at Team China Racing for the past two rounds for Wang Tao, it is currently unknown if he will be racing in Sanya in two weeks.

After the race in Hong Kong, Sellers currently leads the Pro Drivers' Championship with 46 points while Legge trails in second, four points behind her team-mate.

In Pro-Am, Saudi Racing's Bandar Alesayi continues to lead with 56 points having taken back-to-back wins in Ad Diriyah and Mexico City while Ahmed Bin-Khanen sits 26 points adrift in second.
