The World Rally Championship leaders were left unable to run on the Thursday evening stage of Rally Mexico after ramp damage brought running to an early end.
The stage was deemed cancelled for Sebastien Ogier, Thierry Neuville and Ott Tanak after the Citroen of Esapekka Lappi landed heavily after the jump, dislodging the ramp.
The event officials will decide if the trio will receive notional times or if the stage results will be neutralised altogether before Friday morning's running begins.
Lappi was still the fastest of those who set a time, a tenth of a second ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen.
Kris Meeke was third fastest though after going quickest in shakedown, with Elfyn Evans and Teemu Suninen fourth and fifth.
Dani Sordo was sixth fastest in his first WRC outing in the i20 since Spain 2018.
Jari-Matti Latvala was left frustrated in seventh after breaking too early for the finish, with the end being in a different place to where he expected.
