ByKolles Racing Team is likely to miss next month’s 1000 Miles of Sebring, the sixth round of the 2018/2019 FIA World Endurance Championship. The German team is believed to be in dispute with Nismo over the performance and payment for the engine of the #4 ENSO CLM P1/01 LMP1 car.
An engine supply issue prevented the team from undertaking a planned test session at Motorland Aragón last month, and the continuing dispute is now making the Sebring round of the World Endurance Championship logistically impossible.
One source close to the team is suggesting that an alternative engine supplier is being sourced. The chances of that appear slim however, as a provisional entry list released by the FIA has the LMP1 privateer missing for the sixth round of the World Endurance Championship.
In its current form, ByKolles has been competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship since 2016 and currently holds fourth place in the LMP1 championship behind Toyota, Rebellion and SMP Racing.
