Organisers of the new-for-2019 International Formula 3 Series have unveiled the package which will be used in the single-make championship.

The car, dubbed the F3/19, was unveiled at the Yas Marina Circuit on Thursday evening and will be used over the next three seasons until the end of 2021.

A shakedown of the car was held at the Magny-Cours circuit on October 11 and completed 165 over the two weeks it spent there.

Further development testing will continue for the rest of 2018 before three performance tests will take place in December.

The Dallara-designed car will use tyres supplied by Pirelli, continuing the role it held with GP3.

International Formula 3 effectively replaces GP3 on the Formula 1 support bill; the Bruno Michel-run series will use a similar weekend format as GP3.

There will be 30 drivers split across 10 teams, with ART Grand Prix, Campos, Carlin, Charouz Racing System, Hitech Grand Prix, HWA RACELAB, Jenzer Motorsport, MP Motorsport, Prema Racing and Trident having signed up.

Post-season GP3 testing will continue to use the GP3/18 before the F3/19 takes over for 2019 pre-season testing next February.

Teams will get their first car in January before taking delivery of the other two in February of 2019. There will be a shakedown with one car per team during that same month to allow them to become acclimatised to it ahead of the first official pre-season test.

The F3/19 will continue to the run the same engines from the series former guise in GP3 which is a Mecachrome 3.4 DOHC V6 producing 380 horsepower.

The ITR-run Formula 3 championship is to continue on the DTM support bill in 2019.
