Organisers of the FIA Formula 3 championship have revealed its 10-team line-up for the 2019 season, marking a 30-car grid.

Formula 3 is to replace the GP3 Series on the Formula 1 support bill next year, running under the leadership of F2/GP3 boss Bruno Michel, with the current ITR-run European Formula 3 Championship to continue in a revised guise as part of the DTM package.

Of the current GP3 teams, powerhouse ART Grand Prix, Trident, MP Motorsport, Campos and Jenzer have all signed up, with only Arden opting not to continue.

They will be joined by current Formula 3 participants Prema, Carlin Racing and Hitech.

Mercedes-affiliated HWA will expand into the championship, having recently launched its own Formula E team, while current F2 squad Charouz will also join the series.

Each team will field three cars to ensure that there is a 30-car grid.

The new package will be unveiled at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix next month, while teams will receive their first car in January.

A shakedown for teams will be held in due course.

The series is set to adopt a similar format to the current schedule used by GP3.
