A stark improvement from the first practice session, Antonio Garcia led the second practice at Lime Rock Park after a rough first session. Garcia topped the session with a time of 50.939.
Garcia and teammate Jan Magnussen sit six points behind the Chip Ganassi Ford of Ryan Briscoe and Richard Wesbrook. The points leaders dropped to P4 in the second session, two spots back from their teammates in the #66. The Fords were broken up by Laurens Vanthoor in the #912 Porsche.
The second Corvette of Tommy Milner was not able to improve in the way their Corvette Racing teammates did, sitting at the bottom of the session times with a best lap of 51.529.
Andy Lally topped the second session for GTD with a time of 52.140 in the #44 Magnus Racing Audi. Practice 1 leader Kyle Marcelli’s teammate Dominik Baumann fell back to P3.
Katherine Legge took control of the #86 Meyer Shank Racing Acura for the second session, dropping the pace down to P6. Championship rival Paul Miller Racing was unable to post any lap times, as the #48 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 underwent an engine change between sessions and was unable to participate in the second session.
