Stats: Power unit component usage ahead of the Austrian GP

Austria marks the ninth round of the 21-race Formula 1 calendar and with Mercedes and its customers finally getting their hands on a delayed upgrade last week, we thought it'd be time to take a detailed look at what power unit components each driver has used so far.

As per the rules, the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), Turbo-charger (TC) and Motor Generator Unit-Heat (MGU-H) are limited to three per car per season, whilst the Motor Generator Unit-Kinetic (MGU-K), Energy Store (ES) and Control Electronics (CE) are limited to just two.

Currently of the frontrunners, Lewis Hamilton finds himself in the best position with the Briton yet to break into his allocation of MGU-K, ES and CE, unlike team-mate Valtteri Bottas who has used up two of his allocated ES and CE and will therefore need to stretch them out for the remainder of the season.

The two Toro Rosso-Honda powered cars find themselves in the worst position having already used more than their allocation of nearly every component and have therefore already served penalties.
