Tom Dillmann says he is targeting a full-time return to Formula E next season after failing to secure a place on the 2017/18 grid.
Dillmann joined Formula E in 2017 mid-season to replace Stephane Sarrazin at Venturi, taking points on debut in his home race at the Paris E-Prix, before claiming three further top 10 finishes in New York and Montreal.
Despite claiming 12 points in the championship last season, Dillmann was replaced at Venturi, losing out on a seat to Mercedes factory driver Edoardo Mortara.
This weekend Dillmann returns to Formula E, standing in at Venturi for Mortara, who is competing in the clashing DTM series.
"I’m really busy this year doing LMP1 and Super Formula so I’m racing but honestly, I was disappointed not to be on the grid this year," Dillmann told Motorsport Week.
"I think I did a great job jumping in the middle of the championship without testing last year and I was improving race by race so it’s a shame we couldn’t continue the momentum.
"Now I have not been in this car since July last year so a bit of catching up to do but I’m used to adapting very quickly and try to perform quickly so let’s see.
"[Formula E] is a great series. As a driver, the level is really high, the teams, there are a lot of manufacturers so it’s a great place to be so of course I want to be here and have a chance to fight at the front," he continued when asked if he was aiming for a full-time return.
"I am talking [to teams] but it’s 22 seats and I would say almost all of the drivers on the planet want to be here so it’s a tough business but yeah, I think I did a solid job all the time I was here so let’s continue like that."
