Renault e.dams' Sebastien Buemi took to the streets of Switzerland ahead of the inaugural Zurich ePrix which is set to take place on June 10.
In 2018, circuit racing is set to return to Switzerland for the first time in 60 years, with a 2015 law change permitting all-electric circuit racing to be held in the country, thus paving the way for Formula E to head to the Swiss city.
The circuit, which spans 2.47km through the heart of Zurich, features 11 corners which run along the lakeside, past the Arboretum, into the historic city centre before heading back to the harbourfront.
Cruising along the city streets in front of the public, Buemi visited a number of famous landmarks including the Limmatquai which overlooks the old town and the ETH Zurich University.
“I am so happy to be in Zurich and I’m really looking forward to running in the streets with my Z.E. 17 car for promoting my home race in June!" said Buemi.
"The E-Prix is really a special one for me! I hope we are going to have a great new race there after the first European race we had in Rome last weekend.”
Following the cancellation of the double-header Montreal ePrix, the Zurich round of the championship marks the third-last race of the 2017/18 season and the final event of the European leg of the series, meaning that the race will play a key role in the outcome of this season's competition.
Despite challenging for the championship in Formula E's first, second and third seasons, for the first time in the history of the all-electric single seater series, neither Buemi nor Renault e.dams are set to take either the Drivers' or Teams' titles, sitting in fourth and sixth in each of their championships respectively.
