Trident will run Santino Ferrucci and Arjun Maini in this year’s Formula 2 championship.
Ferrucci stepped up to Formula 2 with the squad mid-2017, having previously run in the GP3 midfield, and finished 22nd overall in the standings.
Maini, meanwhile, competed in GP3 for Jenzer and placed ninth in the championship, capturing his maiden win in Spain, before trialling F2 machinery with Russian Time and Trident post-season.
The pair both acted as Haas development drivers in 2017, with Ferrucci sampling the squad’s Formula 1 car during in-season testing, having also carried out mileage during the previous campaign.
Ferrucci and Maini tested the new F2/18 at last week’s Magny-Cours shakedown and have now been confirmed for full-time seats.
"I am very proud to be back at Trident for my first full season of F2,” said Ferrucci.
“I think I fit extremely well in the team and we have strong potential this season to fight for a championship. I cannot wait to get back behind the wheel for our first pre-season test."
Maini commented: “I’m very excited to be competing in the F2 championship with Trident.
“I felt we were quite competitive during the post-season test and given that the series is using all new cars for the coming year, I’m quite excited for the year ahead.
“Trident is a very strong team and I’m sure that if we work hard we’ll be in for some strong results during the course of the coming season."
