Formula E's Alejandro Agag has revealed that the all-electric single seater championship could head to Cairo, Beirut and Doha next season.
In its short four year history, the series has raced in the streets of 17 different cities around the world so far and it has emerged that Agag has been in talks with Saad Hariri, the President of the Lebanon, to discuss a potential race in Beirut while Qatar Airways' recent sponsorship of the Paris and New York ePrix has been revealed to be part of a potential race in Doha.
When asked by Motorsport.com whether races in these three cities could be new additions to the season five calendar, Agag revealed them to be "the main ones" while "going back to mainland China" is also an option.
"Beirut would be a great venue for this championship," he said. "It is a very beautiful city and a big capital and we would love to make this possible.
"We are exploring and working on the possibility, and hopefully we will be able in the future to have a race in Beirut."
The current 2017/18 season will bring electric street racing to a number of new venues including Rome and Zurich while last weekend's Santiago ePrix, which was described as a "huge success", was also a new addition to the calendar.
Due to the cancellation of the scheduled season closing Montreal ePrix, this season will come to its climax in New York and it remains to be seen whether the race in Canada will be renewed for future seasons.
While a second race in the United States has been linked to the series, Agag has placed his preference of another race in Asia after stating that China was "more important" than another North American round.
Formula E's life opened with an intense battle in Beijing in 2014 while the Chinese capital provided a season-opening race in 2015 before being dropped from the calendar for season three and four and replaced by races in Hong Kong. It is expected, however, that the Hong Kong ePrix will lose its place as the season opener from season five and replaced with a race in the Middle East.
