Honda has confirmed that Nirei Fukuzumi will race in both Formula 2 and Super Formula in 2018.
Honda protégé Fukuzumi, 20, competed in GP3 with ART Grand Prix across 2016/17, taking third in last year’s standings, behind team-mates George Russell and Jack Aitken, with two victories to his name.
Fukuzumi will now graduate to Formula 2 with Arden, having run for the team during post-season testing in Abu Dhabi.
Fukuzumi will also make his debut in the Super Formula championship with Team Mugen, replacing Toro Rosso Formula 1 driver Pierre Gasly, who finished runner-up last year.
Fellow Honda-backed youngster Nobuharu Matsushita, who spent three years in GP2/F2 with ART, taking a handful of wins and a best of sixth overall, will also join the championship, competing for Dandelion Racing.
