Issue 243 of our free weekly magazine, Motorsport Monday, is online now and packed full of great content – click here or the link below to start reading.
With the major championships already decided, the racing in Abu Dhabi was never expected to yield any classics and, sadly, for those who predicted a boring grand prix, we were rewarded with possibly the only real snooze-fest we have had this year. But for poor Daniel Ricciardo and Carlos Sainz Jr retiring, we were perilously close to an identical starting grid and final result!
Despite this Joe Saward, Graham Harris, James Moy, and Phillip Horton were all in the paddock to bring you their news and views of the weekend's action. If nothing else, James' images show just how magical a venue Yas Marina is. Pity, as Joe says, that the track needs to be bulldozed before it can ever produce an exciting race…
And the moaning doesn't stop there as Jerry Williams takes up the cudgels against those behind Rally Australia and asks why the WRC gang has to travel to the middle of nowhere to run an event in front a couple of farmers and a bunch of kangaroos. Why, Jezza begs, can't the much loved event be moved back to its spiritual home in Perth, Western Australia..?
And after all that, we also have all the usual news and views we bring you every Monday morning in the world's most widely read weekly motorsport magazine, Motorsport Monday.
