Channel 5 – the home of Formula E coverage in the United Kingdom – have confirmed that Vernon Kay will present its coverage of the all-electric series for the upcoming season.
Kay, a well known TV personality, has previous sport presenting credentials having anchored Channel 4's NFL coverage, Sky Sports' coverage of the Golf Sixes as well as hosting a daytime radio show on BBC Radio 1 and ITV's Splash.
"Formula E remains an incredible spectacle within the world of motorsport," commented Kay. "I can’t wait to get track-side and present all the electric action, right from the heart of these amazing cities."
Channel 5 took over Formula E coverage last year where it covered the series from a studio, but the channel now plans to deliver a more in-depth broadcast from Season Four which kicks off on December 2 in Hong Kong.
"I’m delighted to welcome Vernon to the Channel 5 family. He’s a hugely talented broadcaster with a genuine passion for this exciting and fast developing sport," said Caj Sohal, head of Sport for Channel 5.
Ali Russell, media and business development director at Formula E added: "Kay will be heading up the team presenting Formula E on Channel 5. We are excited to bring fans closer to the action than ever before with even more in-depth coverage."
