Hyundai has confirmed that Thierry Neuville, Hayden Paddon and Andreas Mikkelsen will compete at the WRC finale in Australia, with Dani Sordo sidelined.
Hyundai entered 2017 with a line-up of Neuville, Paddon and Sordo, but recruited Mikkelsen for the most recent round in Spain, before signing him through to 2019.
Paddon was benched for Spain but all four drivers will compete at the upcoming British round, before Sordo makes way for the Australia finale.
Hyundai explained that logistical reasons are behind the decision to run a three-car team.
“The complexity of logistics for Australia meant that we were not able to run a four-car entry,” explained Team Principal Michel Nandan.
“That would have been the ideal solution. We want to finish the season in the most competitive way possible, to lay ourselves strong foundations for next year. That’s our aim!”
Hyundai has taken three victories this season courtesy of Neuville in France, Argentina and Poland.
Hyundai currently holds second position in the Manufacturers’ standings.
