Ricky Taylor rushed to his third straight pole position of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship season at Laguna Seca.
The Wayne Taylor Racing driver's time of 1:16.853s was eight tenths quicker than the closest opposition during the 15-minute session at the 2.2-mile California circuit.
Ricky and Jordan Taylor now head into Sunday's penultimate round of the championship with a 27-point lead over nearest title rivals Christian Fittipaldi and Joao Barbosa, who start second on the grid.
Fittipaldi's effort for the Action Express Racing squad ensured a sweep of the front row for the Cadillac DPi-V.R, which has taken seven of the eight available poles so far this season.
Marc Goossens came closest to splitting the pair, with the Visit Florida Racing Ligier driver turning in a time of 1:17.130s, four hundredths shy of second.
Eric Curran qualified fourth in the sister Action Express machine, while Jose Gutierrez completed the top five in the Ligier JSP217 entered by PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports.

In GT Le Mans, Toni Vilander gave Ferrari its first IMSA pole of 2017 with a 1:21.914s marker.
Vilander, who shares the Risi Competizione-run Ferrari 488 with Giancarlo Fisichella, nipped ahead of Dirk Muller's Ford GT by two tenths of a second.
Until Saturday, Ferrari was the only constructor without a pole this year, but Vilander's flying run was enough to give the Italian marque not only its first of the season, but also its first since 2014.
The pair of BMW M6s followed up with near-identical times, followed by Ryan Briscoe in the other Ford prepared by Chip Ganassi Racing.
Porsche and Corvette rounded out the class order having struggled to match their rival manufacturers in the shootout.
GT Daytona pole position went to Madison Snow in the Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3.
Snow held off a pair of Porsches driven by Daniel Morad and Patrick Lindsey to claim his team's third pole of the year, while Jens Klingmann slotted into third for BMW.
The penultimate round of the IMSA WTSCC gets underway on Sunday, September 24th at 17:05 EDT.
